    Report: Vladimir Sobotka to stay with KHL’s Avangard Omsk next season

    Vladimir Sobotka will be spending at least one more season in the KHL, according to a report from Avangard Omsk’s official website. Sobotka had an out-clause on the three-year deal he signed with Omsk in 2013-14, but the club president said in a release that Sobotka would stay in the KHL next season.

    Prospective Las Vegas owner Foley says more than 11,500 seats sold

    Bill Foley, the prospective owner of the Las Vegas NHL franchise, told media that the season ticket drive has reached over 11,500 season seats with more than 1,500 additional commitments from corporations and in suite sales. Foley added that he would not likely be attending the June Board of Governors meeting where expansion is expected to be discussed.

    Red Wings’ Johan Franzen still recovering from January concussion

    A concussion suffered in January is still hindering Johan Franzen’s ability to get back on the ice. Franzen, 35, has a history of concussions and has suffered setbacks while trying to get back into the Red Wings lineup, but GM Ken Holland is hopeful ‘The Mule’ can play in 2015-16.

    Senators’ AHL coach Luke Richardson not likely to move this off-season

    Luke Richardson has been talked about as an NHL coaching prospect over the past three seasons, but has yet to make the jump from the AHL. It appears his call up is going to have to wait at least one more season, too, as Buffalo’s hiring of Dan Bylsma could see Richardson back behind the Binghamton Senators bench.
