It wasn’t the bloodbath some expected after their over-the-top season finale, but it was truly a back-and-forth game full of everything.

I’m not sure what Price was thinking when he dropped the puck in the slot, presenting Glen Metropolit with a gimme goal.

The NHL is trying to increase scoring and excitement, while decreasing obstruction and deadlocked games.

So why are they even considering implementing one-minute penalties in overtime?

Why would the league want to decrease the length of penalties in a period that is supposed to be all about offense; that is why they decided to make overtime 4-on-4 in the first place.

Is there a game that goes by without a check from behind anymore?

A player being hit against the boards with their back to the play is the most dangerous form of contact in hockey, and yet the NHL seems like it can’t be bothered to send a strong message about it to its players.

OK, so let’s all agree there have been a few brutal headshots this season (no need to name names) and that there is no place in the game for contact that blatantly puts a fellow player’s health at risk.
