Fighting ain't dead in the NHL yet and these scraps prove it. From battling heavyweights to surprising knockouts and an all-captain fight, we've got it all for the fisticuffs buff.

A lot of enforcers are still looking for NHL work this season and some, such as George Parros, have even retired. But that doesn't mean 2014 was bereft of fisticuffs. Oh no, there were some seriously good donnybrooks during the calendar year, so let's break down the tilts that really stood out.

10. Steve Ott vs. Steve Pinizzotto, Nov. 28

I love the fire in this fight, particularly when Ott keeps throwing punches as Pinizzotto has him half-jerseyed.

9. Zac Rinaldo vs. Brandon Prust, Nov. 25

My favorite moment here is when the two momentarily pull apart and Rinaldo gets a look on his face like, "Again, right?"

8. Milan Lucic vs. Chris Stewart, Oct. 20

This is the game Ted Nolan missed.

7. Luke Gazdic vs. Kevin Westgarth, March 1

A heavyweight scrap with a very definitive ending.

6. Colton Orr vs. John Erskine, Jan. 10

Same deal, different dance partners.

5. Gabriel Landeskog vs. Andrew Ladd, Dec. 11

Captain fight!

4. Mike Brown vs. Aaron Volpatti, Jan. 14

And the winner of the 2014 Mike Brown Award for most gonzo fighter is…Mike Brown

3. Clayton Stoner vs. Zach Sill, Oct. 9

How about Sill going all "Rocky" in this one? It ain't over!

2. Justin Johnson vs. John Scott, April 13

This is like watching Little Joe knock out Bald Bull.

1. Antoine Roussel vs. Kevin Klein, Jan. 20

I don't know what Roussel does to get guys so mad at him, but I'm glad he does it.
