Watch Ryan Johansen snipe goal in first game as a Nashville Predator

Ryan Johansen made an impact in his first game as a Nashville Predator. Less than three minutes into his first game with his new club, Johansen rocketed a wrist shot over the shoulder of Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov.

If anyone in Nashville needed convincing of Ryan Johansen’s incredible skill, they didn’t have to wait long to be convinced in his first game as a Predator.

Less than three minutes into Friday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche, Johansen trotted out as part of the Predators’ top power play unit. Set up on the left wing boards, Johansen took an indirect pass from Nashville blueliner Mattias Ekholm and controlled the puck into the circle.

Johansen controlled the puck for a few seconds and looked off two passing lanes before rifling a no-look, perfectly placed snipe over the shoulder of Avalanche netminder Semyon Varlamov:

Johansen’s goal was the first time he’s buried a shot since Nov. 28, but he did it in style. He wasn’t done there, either, as he picked up his first multi-point game since Dec. 10 with an assist on Filip Forsberg’s second period tally.

In his first outing as a Predator, Johansen skated 17:46, had two shots on goal and had the second-best shot attempts for percentage on the team. Johansen was on-ice for 20 shot attempts for and only six against, but did start two-thirds of his shifts in the offensive zone.
