The Islanders' forward received a major for boarding and a game misconduct for his hit on the Canucks captain.

The Vancouver Canucks played the final 40 minutes on Sunday night in Brooklyn without Henrik Sedin and could be without their captain for future games. Sedin was the recipient of a hit from Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski late in the first period and did not return to the Canucks 2-1 shootout win. Grabovski was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct. Sedin remained down following the hit and required assistance trainer Jon Sanderson. He remained on the bench for the remainder of the period, but did not return following the first intermission. According to NHL.com's David Satriano, Sedin had X-rays and said it's a new injury. Ben Kuzma of The Vancouver Province suggested Sedin suffered a shoulder injury. “I’m a little stiff, so it could've been better," Sedin told Kuzma."I didn’t see him at all, I knew someone was there. I thought I had somehow turned away from him, so I did not expect him to hit me at that point. I couldn’t go (back in) and it was impossible and it doesn’t happen very often — it’s not a good feeling. "Hits to the head aren’t happening as much. I’m sure it’s something the league is going to look into.” Vancouver continues its six-game road trip on Tuesday against the Rangers.
