When Mathieu Garon broke into the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens he appeared to have all the makings of a top-tier starter. And while things haven’t panned out exactly as he had planned, the Chandler, Que., native has developed into one of the better backups in the league.
THN’s Adam Proteau sat down with the veteran netminder to discuss the struggles the Lightning have faced this year, the possibility of making goalie equipment smaller to increase scoring and more.
