Last season, Evander Kane established himself as one of the NHL’s brightest young stars. Kane set career highs in goals (30) and assists (27).
But despite his success, Kane faced scrutiny in the local media. Rumors of trade requests and questions about his commitment ran rampant but, the Jets ignored the critics and rewarded his strong play with a six-year contract extension worth $31.5 million.
As part of an upcoming cover story in The Hockey News, senior writer Ken Campbell caught up with the 21-year-old Vancouver native. The pair discuss the maturation process the young Jets are going through, Kane's development as a power forward and more.
