When the Dallas Stars called Jack Campbell’s name 11th overall in June at the draft in Los Angeles they knew they were getting a young man who likes to win.
Campbell was part of the upstart U.S. team that captured the gold medal at the 2010 World Junior Championship in Saskatoon, Sask. That was after he helped the Americans win gold in 2009 and 2010 at the World Under-18 Championship.
This season Campbell will try to continue his winning ways when he joins the powerhouse Windsor Spitfires in their quest for major junior supremacy and a third consecutive Memorial Cup. A native of Port Huron, Mich., Campbell is excited about the opportunity to join a championship team and hone his craft so close to home.
