LeClair, 37, was put on waivers last Thursday and sent to the AHL on Saturday after nobody claimed him. The Penguins then immediately put him on re-entry waivers, hoping a team would claim him for half his US$1.5-million salary. But there were no takers.
So Pittsburgh sent him back down Thursday. The former 50-goal scorer had two goals and five assists in 21 games this season.
