Police say the player wishes to remain anonymous but is urging local pawn shops to look out for the sentimental items. These include a silver TAG watch with the inscription "Once an Oiler, Always an Oiler," and a gold face watch with the Stanley Cup and Edmonton Oiler's logo.
They also made away with a Chicago All-Stars watch, a pair of world Championship watches - one from 1993 and one from 1994-two NHL Players Association watches and a Canada Cup time piece.
The player's name is not inscribed on any of the watches.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
