The Regina Pats wanted to create a new, timeless jersey for the 2015-16 season and they couldn’t have done any better. The Pats’ redesign, which carried over the shoulder patch from previous jerseys, is gorgeous and make Regina’s uniform one of the nicest in the WHL.

The Regina Pats had been working on a redesign for almost a year, and the time and effort put into the club’s new jerseys has paid off. The Pats a brand new jersey for the 2015-16 season and the WHL club’s new threads are spectacular. Their past look, which used a colorized shoulder and a spaced striping design on the arms and base of the jersey, had been in use for the past five seasons. Don't expect this new redesign to be leaving anytime soon, though, because it should be able to stand the test of time:

Pats new logo 644 “These new uniforms are meant to reflect the new direction for Regina Pats hockey,” said Pats President Todd Lumbard at the unveiling this season. “We are working to build a first-class organization on and off the ice and this uniform complements just that.” The two primary colors on the jersey, the red and blue, have been darkened on the new uniform. The change almost resembles something close to the New York Rangers’ alternate sweater. Held over from the previous jersey is the shoulder patch that pays tribute to the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, from which the Pats draw their name. The shoulder patch consists of the cap badge and name bar from the Infantry. “In speaking to stakeholders it was clear we needed to pay respect to 98 years of heritage in whatever design we came up with,” Lumbard said. “In the end, we wanted to create something that is modern without being trendy or edgy. It also had to be timeless.” This design is certainly a success on all those counts. Simple, sleek and gorgeous, it would be surprising were the Pats to stray from this jersey in five, 10 or even 20 years. The team debuted the jersey’s to begin the 2015-16 season and are 6-5-0 in the new duds.
