Sam Gagner, C/W, Edmonton Oilers
2008/12/12: After missing two games due to a mild concussion, Edmonton Oilers sophomore forward Sam Gagner returned to action Thursday night against Florida. Gagner centered the fourth line between Liam Reddox and Gilbert Brule but didn't record a point in 12:44 of ice time.
Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, D, Columbus Blue Jackets

2008/12/12: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman James Wisniewski, who has missed the entire 2008-09 campaign to date because of knee surgery, has been assigned to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs to begin a conditioning stint. Expect the 24-year-old Wisniewski to reclaim a spot among Chicago's top six blueliners in the next few weeks. The Blackhawks also assigned winger Pascal Pelletier back to Rockford, after replacing the suspended Kris Versteeg for one game.
Andy Greene, D, New Jersey Devils
2008/12/11: New Jersey Devils rearguard Andy Greene will not return to the lineup until next week, at head coach Brent Sutter's discretion. Sutter told the Newark Star-Ledger that the team wants Green to "get himself into game-like situations in practice," before resuming play.
Ilya Kovalchuk, LW, Atlanta Thrashers
2008/12/11: Atlanta forward Ilya Kovalchuk isn't going anywhere, according to a recent quote from Thrashers general manager Don Waddell. There have been numerous trade rumors involving the superstar winger stemming from the fact that the Thrashers are in rebuilding mode and the Russian is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2010. However, Waddell insists he has no intention of moving the 25-year-old.
