Teuvo Teravainen scores easy goal thanks to incredible no-look pass from Patrick Kane

Teuvo Teravainen has had a quieter season than some expected, but the 21-year-old buried a beautiful no-look feed from Patrick Kane for the game-winning goal Monday. Teravainen has three goals and four points in 11 games, but was a healthy scratch two games ago against Winnipeg.

This could be the year of the no-look pass. Already this season players such as New York Rangers center Kevin Hayes and Washington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov have setup teammates for easy tallies thanks to ridiculous behind-the-back feeds, and Chicago Blackhawks right winger Patrick Kane can be added to the list.

Midway through the third period of Monday’s tilt between the Blackhawks and red-hot Los Angeles Kings, the score was tied at two when Kane lost control of the puck in the Kings’ zone. However, Blackhawks center Artem Anisimov won a loose puck and chipped it down below the goal line to Kane, who somehow spotted Teuvo Teravainen sneaking in to the left of the Los Angeles netminder Jonathan Quick. Kane’s pass was right on the tape of Teravainen, who made no mistake:

Teravainen’s tally stood as the game-winner as the Blackhawks snapped the Kings’ seven-game winning streak. It was a huge win for the Blackhawks who, in an extremely tight Central Division, were trying to keep pace with the rest of the pack.

Teravainen found himself a healthy scratch just two games back against the Winnipeg Jets, and has had a quieter campaign than was expected of him. Through 11 games, the 21-year-old winger has three goals and four points. He has been limited to a depth role in Chicago this season, averaging less than 14 minutes per outing. However, Monday he skated on a line with Kane and Anisimov, and the trio was on the ice for the game-tying and game-winning goals.

Kane, 26, now has seven goals and 16 points in 12 games this season and sits third in the NHL’s scoring race.
