Spiralling Bulldogs lose seventh straight, 3-1 to Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Trevor Frischmon scored two goals as the Syracuse Crunch handed the Hamilton Bulldogs their seventh-straight loss on Wednesday night, a 3-1 decision in AHL action.

With the regulation loss, the 'Dogs set a franchise record for futility after failing to record a point for the seventh-straight game.

Defenceman Clay Wilson opened the scoring for the Crunch with his 12th goal of the season at 11:31 of the first period on the power play.

Syracuse extended its lead at 3:34 of the middle stanza when Frischmon potted his fourth tally of the campaign.

At the 6:00 mark of the second period, the Bulldogs cut the Crunch lead in half when Mathieu Biron took a pass from Jonathan Ferland and blasted home a power-play goal to make the score 2-1.

Prior to the goal, Hamilton had gone 0-for-32 on the power play and hadn't scored a goal with the man advantage in over six games.

Frischmon lifted Syracuse to a 3-1 lead at 4:25 of the third period.

Between the pipes, Yann Danis suffered his seventh-straight loss for the Bulldogs after stopping 27 of the 30 shots he faced, while Karl Goehring made 28 saves on 29 shots to earn the win for the Crunch (35-26-2-6).

Hamilton's record now stands at 31-28-2-5 through 67 games this season.
