SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks hired former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Ferguson Jr. on Sunday to be their director of pro scouting.

Ferguson was fired by Toronto in January after 4 1/2 seasons running the Leafs. His father, the former New York Rangers coach who died in July 2007, spent 11 seasons working in the Sharks organization.

San Jose also added former Chicago coach Dirk Graham to its scouting staff along with Shin Larsson and Jason Rowe. Graham, a 12-year NHL veteran who won the Selke Trophy in 1991, spent the last two seasons scouting for Tampa Bay.
