LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Maxwell Reinhart and John Ramage would each like to follow in the footsteps of their fathers.

The two prospects were among the six players selected by the Calgary Flames at the NHL draft on Saturday. Reinhart's father Paul and Ramage's dad Rob each spent time with the Flames during their playing days.

The good lineage was something that attracted the Flames to both players.

"There's a bloodline factor there," said GM Darryl Sutter.

Reinhart is a centre with the Western Hockey League's Kootenay Ice and was the first player selected by Calgary—64th overall. Ramage, a defenceman for the University of Wisconsin, was taken 103rd.

The other players Calgary selected on Saturday were:

—Defenceman Joey Leach, 73rd overall, from the WHL's Kootenay Ice.

—Centre Bill Arnold, 108th overall, from the U.S. under-18 program.

—Winger Michael Ferland, 133rd overall, from the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.

—Winger Patrick Holland, 193rd overall, from the WHL's Tri-City Americans.

It was a relatively quiet draft for the Flames, who considered trying to acquire some better draft picks.

"We had a few opportunities to move up yesterday," said Sutter. "At the end of the first (round), it was pretty much the same guys where we were picking in the third (round). So it really wasn't worth it."
