NY Rangers (8-2-1) at NY Islanders (2-5-0), 7:00 p.m. EDT

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Rangers look to
continue their fast start when they visit the slumping New York
Islanders on Monday.

The Rangers, who won their first five games to begin the season,
are coming off a come-from-behind 3-2 shootout victory over the
Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

New York outshot Pittsburgh, 18-2, in the third period and
Nikolai Zherdev tied the contest with nine seconds remaining to
send the game into overtime. After the extra period, Fredrik
Sjostrom netted the lone goal in the bonus format to give the
Rangers the win.

Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been exceptional in net for the
Rangers, posting a 6-2-1 record with a 1.99 goals-against
average. The Swede has allowed two goals or fewer in seven of
his nine games.

The other New York team hasn't been able to get anything going
and ranks last in the Eastern Conference with four points.

The Islanders dropped their third straight game, 4-3, against
Carolina on Saturday. New York has struggled on the power play,
ranking 28th in the league at 13 percent (5-of-40).

The Islanders won five of the eight meetings between the teams
last season.
