Proteau's Blog: Let the Blogging begin!

October 2:
When my superiors asked whether I'd like to become a full-fledged member of the blogging community, the answer came before they could finish the question. (They got to ‘commu-'.)

Would I like my own blog? Does a one-legged duck swim in a circle?

“Yes, please,” I said. “Gimme, gimme, gimme.”

Gimme they did, and I now have this cyberspace with which to chime in on all things hockey, and some things non-hockey. From time to time, I'll give you a movie review, or a quasi-despondent rant on our decadent North American culture, or my favorite comedian's new bit. (As much as I'd like to beat the drum for my own strident political views, this probably isn't the place for it. However, personal requests for Manifestos O' Proteau can be made via the Feedback link at the top of the page.)

We encourage your comments, whether they hurt my widdle feelings or not. And that reminds me: I reserve the right to write phonetically, whenever I deem it appropriate and/or amusing. But patently defamatory comments won't make the cut. (Apologies to all you defamers out there.)

Alternatively, if you'd like to have your question or comment answered online for everyone to see, send an email to aproteau@thehockeynews.com and I'll give you my response in THN.com's new Ask Adam feature, which appears every Friday.

Let's begin our new venture into Blogdom with what the Internet was founded on - rumors and innuendo.

Confirm or Deny: Panthers forward Todd Bertuzzi, who's got one year remaining on the four-year contract he signed with Vancouver, is looking like a lock to join the Phoenix Coyotes next summer when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Bertuzzi's close friend and former Canucks teammate Ed Jovanovski will be there for the next five years, and because of that – not to mention the player-friendly operation Wayne Gretzky and Mike Barnett run – the big winger is heavily rumored in some circles to have his eye on the desert dogs.

Also: After 10 seasons, I'm finally bored of The Amazing Race. And Dennis Miller is a comedic tragedy. Have a lovely day.

FEEDBACK:
It took you ten years to get over The Amazing Race? I hope it didn't take you that long to realize Denis Miller has fizzled like Roman Cechmanek.
