• Whenever Jason Arnott comes back from his knee injury, it's highly unlikely the Predators will be returning Alexander Radulov to the American League. Radulov is tied for third in rookie scoring with seven goals this season, but here's the impressive part: he's done it in just 13 games. Everyone either tied with him or ahead of him has played at least 21 games.
• The gruesome injury suffered last week by Jamie Heward – his face was sliced up for around 100 stitches after Mike Modano's skate blade ran across it – has not convinced the Capitals blueliner to permanently don a visor. Some people never learn.
• Tough night for the Canucks. Not only did the Oilers suffocate Vancouver's already-puny offense during Edmonton's 4-0 win Monday, but Vancouver also lost Taylor Pyatt, Sami Salo and Rick Rypien to injuries. That's not good for a team whose offense has managed only four more goals than 30th-ranked Columbus, despite playing three more games than the lowly Blue Jackets.
• Nice to see Mikael Tellqvist win in his debut with Phoenix yesterday. Despite all his troubles in Toronto and despite a fan base that was willing to cast him off because of a poor performance in two games last year, Tellqvist was never anything less than a gentleman with the media. You certainly can't say that about every guy whose career hit the skids with the Maple Leafs.
