Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco was named second star of the week while Pittsburgh Penguins rookie forward Evgeni Malkin was chosen as third star.
Legwand, 26, led the Predators to a 3-1-0 record for the week, scoring the winner in each Nashville victory. The second overall pick in the 1998 draft, Legwand capped the week with his first career hat trick in a 6-3 win over Chicago. His third goal of the game made him Nashville's all-time leading goal-scorer with 97.
Legwand is third on the team with 42 points (18-24) in 46 games.
Turco guided the Stars to a perfect week, going 3-0-0 with a 1.30 goals-against average and .940 save percentage. The 31-year-old became the Stars' all-time wins leader with his 161st career victory in Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Minnesota.
Malkin, 20, recorded two goals and six assists in three games for the Penguins last week, including a season-high five-assist performance in Saturday's 8-2 rout of Toronto. The Russian winger leads all rookies with 52 points (24-28) in 42 games.
