Scott Khachadourian, Boston

There was once a time in the NHL when players had respect for each other as players and as human beings who were earning a living.

In today's NHL, there is no more respect for each other. Seeing these guys go out and try to injure someone makes me sick.

What needs to happen is the players police themselves and guys like Matt Cooke should be forced to look over his shoulder in any rink he plays in.

In the old days, if Wayne Gretzky had been hit from the blindside, the perpetrator wouldn't survive the rest of the game, let alone the season.

This is a message to the players who respect each other: go out and force the Cookes of the league to have respect or do away with them by force.

Take the game back!
