The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Nov. 23-29 is Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby.
In four games on the week, Crosby led the way for his team, posting eight points as his team piled up three wins.
After tallying two goals and an assist in wins over Montreal and Florida, Crosby was held pointless in a loss to the Islanders, but came back the next night with his best performance of the season. In an 8-3 drubbing of the New York Rangers, Crosby notched a hat trick and two assists for a five-point night in 19:59 of ice time.
Now with 15 goals and 15 assists in 27 games, Crosby is tied for seventh in NHL scoring with 30 points. The Penguins sit 18-9-0 and their 36 points tie them with Washington for tops in the East.
