PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The NHL all-star game has lost another Pittsburgh Penguins star.

Forward Evgeni Malkin will miss this weekend's festivities in Raleigh, N.C., due to a sinus infection, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Tuesday.

Malkin joins Penguins teammate Sidney Crosby on the sidelines. Crosby is out with a concussion and will not attend the event.

Bylsma said Malkin was too sick to play Tuesday night against the Islanders. The Russian is also reportedly nagged by a sore left knee.

"Evgeni is not healthy enough to return to the ice right now," said Bylsma. "He needs to get healthy before we can move forward with that. Is that during the break, or is that after the break? We don't know that. We hope it’s soon, maybe within the next week or so, he can think about getting back on the ice again when he’s healthy and the pressure in his head subsides."

Malkin was voted into the all-star game by the fans but hasn't played for a week. He has 15 goals and 22 assists in 42 games this season.

Minnesota Wild winger Martin Havlat will take Malkin's place on the all-star roster. The NHL also announced that Keith Yandle will take the place of Atlanta Thrashers defenceman Tobias Enstrom, who is out with a broken finger.
