The defenseman was injured on a hit from Ryan Callahan during Friday night's loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He had his right hand evaluated on Saturday.

Defenseman Kris Letang was the only member of the Penguins who didn't participate in Saturday's practice and his availability for Sunday is in question. The 28-year-old took a hit from Ryan Callahan during the final minute of the second period in the Pens’ 5-4 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night. Letang briefly left to have his right hand looked at, but did finish the game. “A lot of pain,” Letang said of his hand post-game. “I checked with the doctors and made sure I was not putting myself at risk.” Following Saturday’s skate, Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan called Letang a “game-time decision” for Sunday when Pittsburgh plays host to the Carolina Hurricanes. “Tanger was being evaluated today,” Sullivan said. “I have not got definitive results.” Letang has six goals and 28 points in 34 games this season while leading all Pens’ defensemen with 26:17 in ice time a night.
