"It just kind of knocked the wind out of me," Crosby said in practice Wednesday. "It's not something you want to dwell on. It's done and over; there's a lot more important things to worry about."

No penalty was called after the incident, which took place with about half a minute remaining, but Crosby was assessed an unsportsmanlike conduct minor. Blake was fined US$1,000 by the NHL, but will not be suspended.

While Crosby deflected a barrage of questions about the incident, coach Michel Therrien said he feels that Blake, the Islanders' leading scorer, should have been suspended.

"This is not only my feeling, but our feeling about the incident," Therrien said. "It was a cheap shot, and we're not going to accept those things. We're not going to take it, those types of things."

Crosby and Blake will be teammates in the all-star game next week.

"I don't think there needs to be too much attention drawn to it," Crosby said. "It happened. It is what it is, and people can make their opinions on it, but, like I said, it's something that happened and I've accepted that. It's not good to see it, but it happens."
