TORONTO - Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott has received a one-game suspension for gouging Anaheim's Travis Moen in the eye during a game over the weekend.

The incident occurred after Ott and Moen got into a fight following the Ducks' 4-3 win over Dallas on Saturday afternoon. Ott received a match penalty for attempt to injure after officials ruled he gouged Moen's eye during the skirmish.

Ott said it wasn't intentional.

"It was an accident," he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram after the game. "I didn't mean to do it."

Ott, who was suspended indefinitely pending a review of the incident, served his suspension Sunday against Pittsburgh and is eligible to return Tuesday when the Stars play the Sharks in San Jose.

Ott, who was suspended for three games in March 2008, is now considered a repeat offender. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement he will forfeit $17,378.05 in salary based on the number of games in the season (82) rather than the number of days (186). The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
