PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Three broken teeth and a fat lip didn't prevent Martin St. Louis from helping the Tampa Bay Lightning bite back to even the first-round Eastern Conference series with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

St. Louis had a goal and assist, Eric Brewer scored and added two assists and the Lightning rebounded to beat the Penguins 5-1 on Friday night.

For St. Louis, the performance was payback after the diminutive forward was livid that no penalty was called after he was cracked across the face by Zbynek Michalek's errant stick in the second period of Tampa Bay's 3-0 loss in Game 1 on Wednesday night.

Vincent Lecavalier, Nate Thompson and Mattias Ohlund—into an empty net—also scored. Simon Gagne had three assists and Tampa Bay rediscovered its high-powered offence to blow the game open with a three-goal first period. Craig Adams scored for the Penguins.

Game 3 is Monday night at Tampa Bay.

WASHINGTON (AP)—Jason Chimera and Jason Arnott scored in a 1:57 span in the second period, Michal Neuvirth made 22 saves and Washington beat New York to take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference series.

After playing a scoreless and somewhat jittery first period, the Capitals dominated the Rangers the rest of the way. Chimera scored 2:11 into the second period off a feed from Marcus Johansson, and Arnott added to the lead at the 4:08 mark with a power-play goal from the left circle.

The 23-year-old Neuvirth has stopped 46 of 47 shots so far in the series for the Capitals, the conference's No. 1 seed. Henrik Lundqvist made 16 saves for the eighth-seeded Rangers.

Game 3 is Sunday in New York.

VANCOUVER (AP)—Daniel Sedin scored his second goal midway through the third period and added an assist to lead Vancouver to a 2-0 lead over Chicago in the Western Conference series.

Jannik Hansen opened the scoring on a nice pass from Sedin, Alexander Edler scored with 13.1 seconds left in the second period, and Roberto Luongo made 22 saves for Vancouver.

Ben Smith had two goals, Viktor Stalberg also scored and Corey Crawford made 23 saves for the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks.

Game 3 is Sunday night in Chicago.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)—Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and two assists, Ray Emery made 31 saves in his first playoff start in nearly four years, and Anaheim beat Nashville to tie the Western Conference series 1-1.

Bobby Ryan scored two goals, while Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne scored power-play goals in the opening minutes as the Ducks reclaimed their offensive swagger after nearly getting shut out in the series opener.

Captain Shea Weber had a goal and an assist for the Predators, who couldn't quite make up a three-goal deficit in the third period. Patric Hornqvist and Joel Ward also scored.

Game 3 is Sunday in Nashville.
