The Vancouver sophomore made a sweet move on the rush, but the Devils netminder made sure the threat ended soon thereafter. Watch Schneider get across to thwart Alex Burrows en route to a New Jersey win.
Vancouver Canucks center Bo Horvat made a beautiful move against New Jersey last night, but Devils goaltender Cory Schneider played spoiler with some magic of his own:
First of all, how about the deke that Horvat put on fellow sophomore Damon Severson? That had some Datysuk in it for sure. And even though Alexandre Burrows had to catch the ensuing pass on his skate, he had ample time to get off a good shot attempt.
Alas, Schneider makes it across his crease and stones Burrows, keeping the Devils up 3-1. This would prove key, as Vancouver's comeback would ultimately fall short in New Jersey's 3-2 victory: the last Canucks goal came with one second left.
Mike Cammalleri stayed hot for the Devils with points on all three goals. The veteran is one of the top scorers in the NHL right now with 21 points through 20 games, while Schneider made 36 saves on the evening against his old Vancouver team to seal the win.
