We have the technology, so let's start thinking about moving the officials off-ice to free up some space and to give those officials a better view of the game.
With comfy chairs, warm rooms and multiple monitors perhaps we'd have a better job of controlling the on-ice game than we have now.
One guy to drop the puck on faceoffs (and then skate to the gate) and live video from multiple angles to see the action.
It might also put an end to the attitude seemingly adopted in the final of, "Let the players decide it; no whistle unless a stick is broken or blood is shed."
An uncalled icing or high stick can influence the outcome of a game. And to see the Stanley Cup decided by non-calls makes me very nervous about the next regular season's officiating.
