Dustin Byfuglien peers out from behind Michael Hutchinson (JetsTV)
Dustin Byfuglien is one of the most fun players to watch, and it appears he’s making that true for both on and off the ice. First he videobombed Nashville radio crew and now he snuck in behind goaltender Michael Hutchinson and mugged for the camera following Winnipeg’s 5-4 win over Detroit.
Last week, Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien provided the NHL with one of its more lighthearted moments when he made a point of videobombing the Nashville Predators radio crew. Well, ‘Big Buff’ is at it again.
Following Winnipeg’s 5-4 shootout victory over the Detroit Red Wings, goaltender Michael Hutchinson was being interviewed by JetsTV when Byfuglien walked by with that same look in his eye he had when he videobombed the Predators’ crew. Seconds later, Byfuglien was back in frame, hiding behind Hutchinson and peeking out either side, mugging for the camera.
If this is going to be Byfuglien’s thing now – videobombing everyone he encounters – then we’re all for it. With the recent dressing room drama the Jets have had and the subsequent trade of Evander Kane to the Buffalo Sabres, some lighthearted shenanigans are just enough to make everyone relax.
Byfuglien had two assists in the Jets win over the Red Wings and skated a team-high 27:33, including nearly six minutes on the power play.
