VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Rookie Steve Mason and
the Columbus Blue Jackets will continue their trip through
Western Canada on Sunday, visiting the Vancouver Canucks.

The Blue Jackets sit in sixth place in the Western Conference,
two points behind the fifth-place Canucks.

Mason turned aside all 19 shots he faced as Columbus skated to a
1-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Raffi Torres
scored on a breakaway nearly eight minutes into the third
period.

The leading candidate to win the Calder Trophy this season,
Mason has posted a 24-14-3 record with a 2.13 goals-against
average and an NHL-best eight shutouts.

Steve Bernier snapped a tie at 9:26 of the third period Friday,
leading the Canucks to a 2-1 triumph over the Tampa Bay
Lightning.

Alexander Edler also tallied and All-Star Roberto Luongo made 20
saves for Vancouver, which successfully opened a four-game
homestand.
