ROCHESTER, N.Y. - David Marshall capped a comeback from a two-goal deficit as the Rochester Americans beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 in American Hockey League action Wednesday.

Marshall's winning goal came at 17:29 of the second period as he scooped up a loose puck, then fired a snap shot over the glove of Hamilton goaltender Curtis Sanford.

A.J. Jenks, Brady Calla and Michael Duco also scored for Rochester.

Aaron Palushaj, Max Pacioretty and Mathieu Carle replied for Hamilton (14-7-4), which has lost three straight regulation games for the first time this season.

The Americans (11-13-1) opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first period. Michael Caruso centred the puck to Jenks, who one-timed a shot past Sanford.

Hamilton tied the game at 9:29 of the opening period. David Urquhart sent a pass to Palushaj, who skated between two Rochester defencemen before firing a shot over the glove of Rochester starting goaltender Tyler Plante.

The Bulldogs went up 2-1 six seconds into the second period with a power-play goal. David Desharnais won a faceoff, sending the puck to Pacioretty, who raced down the ice towards the Americans net and rifled a shot over Plante's glove.

The goal set a new franchise record for fastest regular season goal to start a period.

Hamilton took a 3-1 lead at 8:03 of the second. Alex Henry carried the puck into Rochester's zone before passing to Carle, who was trailing on the play. Carle's high shot beat Plante.

Rochester made it 3-2 at 11:36 of the second period. Caruso fired a shot that was stopped by Sanford. The goaltender could not control the rebound, which bounced onto the stick of Calla.

Duco tied the game 3-3 at 14:19 of the second period. Following a scramble in the Bulldogs zone, Duco collected the loose puck before whacking it past Sanford and into the net.
