The KHL had a new record set Friday when a playoff game between Lev Prague and Donbass Donetsk lasted more than three full overtime periods before

The Russian-based Kontinental League set a record Friday when Lev Prague and Donbass Donetsk played a quadruple-overtime game that lasted 126:14 before Donbass forward Evgeny Belukhin scored to win the game 4-3 and even their conference semifinal playoff series at one game apiece.

All four Gagarin Cup playoff games that took place Friday went to overtime, but the Donbass/Prague game took more than five hours to complete and only ended with Belukhin's second goal of the night more than six minutes into the fourth extra frame.

The Ukranian-based Donbass squad must play their home games at a neutral site of Bratislava, Slovakia due to political unrest in their hometown. Prior to the game, Donbass had its request to continue playing home games in Donetsk rejected by the league.
