Spartak Moscow center Evgeny Bodrov made a perfect behind-the-back, no-look pass in KHL action and it landed right on the tape of Chay Genoway for an easy goal. Bodrov’s not an all-star, but this awesome assist will have him on highlight reels all season long.

Everyone has heard of a goal scorer’s goal, but Spartak Moscow center Evgeny Bodrov dished out a playmaker’s assist in KHL action over the weekend.

With Moscow up 2-0 over Slovan Bratislava nearing the midway mark of the third frame, Bodrov circled behind the net and drew Slovan’s Anatoly Protasenya below the goal line. With Protasenya playing loose coverage and giving Bodrov space, the 27-year-old Russian pivot spotted defenseman Chay Genoway streaking in from the blueline.

As Genoway cut towards the net, Bodrov took his eyes off of his teammate, took a stride towards the corner and threw a no-look, behind-the-back pass that landed right on Genoway’s tape for an easy tap-in. Take a look:

Bodrov isn’t really the type of player one would expect this from, as his living has been made as a bottom-six forward in the KHL. In 334 career games in the Russian league, Bodrov has 34 goals and 90 points and his career-best mark was a seven-goal, 15-point season in 2011-12 with Ak Bars Kazan.

That said, Bodrov may be finding his offensive stride this season in Moscow. Through 10 games, he has notched two goals and five points, which puts him on pace for a 12-goal, 30-point campaign.
