The WHL franchise is coming off a league championship and Memorial Cup final, but the party isn't stopping. The squad has now gone back to its Tacoma roots for a throwback sweater.
The WHL's Kelowna Rockets are coming off a championship season that saw the powerhouse go all the way to the Memorial Cup final, losing to Oshawa in heartbreaking overtime. But 2015-16 offers a clean sheet of ice for the Rockets and they're kicking things off with a bang, celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary with special jerseys.
The sweaters are throwbacks to the franchise's days as the Tacoma Rockets (they moved to Kelowna in 1995-96), which explains the early 1990s feel. The team has always boasted a distinct color scheme and the shoulders feature a crossed-rockets secondary logo. The Rockets will still wear their usual red jerseys as well.
So what do you think of these sweaters, pass or fail?
