Quebec Remparts goalie Jonathan Roy has been suspended seven games and head coach Patrick Roy received a five-game suspension for their involvement in a Quebec Major Junior League brawl Saturday, according to a report.

The son of the legendary NHL goalie ignored officials trying to restrain him at the red line and skated to the other end of the ice to fight Chicoutimi Sagueneens netminder Bobby Nadeau, who had no interest in the tilt.

The fighting began in the second period of Game 2 of the playoff series, with Chicoutimi leading 7-1. There were already 10 players involved in the fighting.

Patrick Roy denies encouraging the melee and making a gesture to his son – who was also fined $500 - to attack Nadeau.

After Nadeau crumbled to the ice, Jonathan Roy skated away and flashed the Chicoutimi crowd with a middle finger from both hands.

The league suspended a total of six players and two coaches for a combined 28 games and both teams were fined $4,000.
