Jannik Hansen won't make his return to the Vancouver Canucks line-up Monday night against the Arizona Coyotes, despite earlier reports. Hansen collapsed on the team's bench last Saturday against Calgary.

Last Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks walked away victorious over the Calgary Flames, ending a five-game losing streak, but the victory over their west coast rivals came with a scare.

Forward Jannik Hansen collapsed on the team's bench after taking a hit from Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman in the second period.

Hansen eventually left the bench under his own power and was taken to hospital, where he spent the night being evaluated.

Hansen didn't skate Sunday, but Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said the forward could be ready to play against the Arizona Coyotes Monday night, "He just took a real hard hit and he was having trouble getting his breath and it wasn't more than that," Desjardins told NHL.com. "I think Jannik is good to go [Monday].”

Hansen, a 28 year-old native of Denmark has played in all 32 of the Canucks' games this season, recording eight goals and five assists for 13 points.

**Update** Hansen has been removed from the Canucks lineup against the Coyotes. The Canucks issued the following statement moments ago: "In the process of reviewing Hansen's test results the Vancouver Canucks in consultation with specialists have determined that further evaluation is required before he is cleared to play,” the team announced in a statement hours before game time.
