It seems nothing can dampen Jaromir Jagr’s good mood. He lost four teeth after getting high-sticked in the mouth by Alex Chiasson, but Jagr patted Chiasson on the head while leaving the ice, joked with media about it post-game and took to Twitter to ask Santa Claus for some new teeth. It’s starting to feel like Florida Panthers veteran Jaromir Jagr entered the season with the goal of becoming everyone’s favorite player. If that was the case, it’s hard to think he’s been anything but successful. Jagr is already bringing back his mullet due to popular demand, he’s among the leaders for the All-Star Game fan voting and could very well take top spot by the time the game rolls around and he’s one of the sport’s most quotable players on a nightly basis. Tuesday night, there was yet another reason to love the 43-year-old surefire Hall of Famer. In the first period of Tuesday’s 2-1 shootout win over Ottawa, Jagr caught a high stick in the face from Alex Chiasson, which can be seen below. Jagr said the high stick caused him to lose four teeth, but what did he do after being left bloodied? He patted Chiasson on the head to assure him it was all right, returned to the game, then told media post-game that having fewer teeth made him faster and took to Twitter to ask Santa Claus for some new chiclets just in time for Christmas. Jagr would return to the ice less than four minutes later, and in the second frame he picked up a secondary assist on Florida’s only goal of the game. In overtime, Jagr got a breakaway, but was unable to capitalize. Even still, he was lighthearted about the moment when asked about it following the win. "I lost some teeth but I gained some speed as you saw on that breakaway," Jagr told the Miami Herald’s George Richards. "I don't want to hear I'm slow anymore. I had the breakaway. I don't think I'll have another one for 10 years.” And once the media was gone and Jagr had some free time post-game, he took to Twitter for yet another in a long line of great posts.
Dear Santa, can I get a new teeth for Christmas :) it's going to be tough to eat-good -at least I don't get fat :))) pic.twitter.com/mifGcolCdP— Jaromir Jagr (@68Jagr) December 23, 2015
