NEW YORK, - Tokyo Police Club has been tabbed to play the upcoming Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Calgary.

The Toronto-based indie rockers will perform during the first intermission of the outdoor match Sunday between the Flames and Montreal Canadiens (CBC, RDS, Versus, pre-game 5 p.m. ET).

Also on the bill is local country crooner Paul Brandt, who will sing the Canadian national anthem, while Thompson Square, a husband-and-wife country duo, will perform the American anthem.

Before the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames take the ice at McMahon Stadium, the Snowbirds will perform a flyover while Calgary's Allegiance Elite drumline will help perform "Heritage Classic Fanfare," an original orchestral piece composed for the game.

The NHL game is the first held outdoors in Canada since the Edmonton Oilers hosted the Canadiens at Commonwealth Stadium in 2003.
