RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes activated defenceman Glen Wesley from injured reserve Sunday and sent three players to their American Hockey League affiliate in Albany.

Wesley was activated one day after he was placed on the injured list, retroactive to Jan. 5, because of illness.

Carolina sent forwards Keith Aucoin and Brandon Nolan and defenceman Tim Conboy to Albany, and they were expected to play Sunday at Syracuse.

Nolan, the 24-year-old son of New York Islanders coach Ted Nolan, has been called up four times this season by Carolina and completed his second one-game NHL stint in a week. He was recalled Thursday, sent back to Albany on Friday and rejoined Carolina on Saturday.

Conboy, signed last summer by Carolina as a free agent, made his debut Saturday night in a 5-4 loss to Colorado. He finished with an assist and got into a fight with Avalanche enforcer Scott Parker on his first NHL shift.

Aucoin had a goal and an assist in the loss to Colorado.
