Carolina (3-1-1) at Pittsburgh (4-2-1), 7:30 p.m. EDT

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes continue their
six-game road trip on Thursday when they visit the Pittsburgh
Penguins.

The trip is the longest of the season for the Hurricanes, who
bounced back from an overtime loss at the Los Angeles Kings with
a 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

Captain Rod Brind'Amour, Ryan Bayda and Eric Staal scored in the
win for Carolina, which is 2-0-1 on the road this season.

Ray Whitney notched one assist in Sunday's triumph and has
recorded a point in all five of the Hurricanes' games this
season. He leads the team with five assists and six points.

Pittsburgh has won three of its past four games, including a 2-1
shootout victory over the Boston Bruins on Monday.

Captain Sidney Crosby has overcome a slow start and recorded one
goal and six assists in his last three games, while Evgeni
Malkin has a tally and seven assists over that same span.
Malkin currently leads the league with 11 points (two goals,
nine assists).

The teams split the four meetings last season.
