It looks like Maripier Morin is going to get a little more Canadiens support when the second season of Hockey Wives returns sometime in 2016. As production begins on the new season, W Network confirmed two new Wives are joining the cast: Rhianna Weaver, who is married to Canadiens defenseman
Mike Weaver, and Juno-winning
Keshia Chanté, who is dating Flyers goalie
Ray Emery. Don’t except a showdown between Morin and Weaver this season though; the ladies are actually good friends when the cameras are off. That means viewers can expect a good chunk of the season to be focused on Marin’s new engagement to Canadiens forward
Brandon Prust, and
the planning of their upcoming wedding. After spending much of Season 1 on Marin’s conflicted feelings about not being married to Prust, it’s a relief to know the narrative will finally change in Montreal.
Meanwhile, W Network confirmed several other wives who made big impact in Season 1 are returning. Kodette LaBarbera,
Noureen DeWulf, Martine Forget and Tiffany Parros, who caused plenty of controversy with her strong opinions and tendency to openly speak her mind, are in the rotation for Season 2. Parros, in particular, stirred the pot when it came to finances and those who were perhaps a little insensitive to Tiffany’s husband
George Parros, who was trying to reinvent himself after a forced retirement. Here’s hoping DeWulf, who has talked about not getting along with many of the other wives because she considers herself a career woman, has finally met her match in Chanté. Between being a singer and songwriter, a host and personality, a philanthropist who has volunteered in Africa and Dominican Republic, and what Fashion Television calls a “fashion icon,” it’s safe to say Chanté’s hectic schedule rivals DeWulf’s. When asked whether any Wives would not be returning to the series, W Network confirmed to The Hockey News that the goal is to have everyone who participated in Season 1 weaved into the second season as well, although no more names were officially confirmed. A second casting announcement is expected at a later date. Personally, we’re still holding out for
