Heat pick up first home victory in team history with a 7-5 win over Milwaukee

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - John Armstrong had a goal and two assists and Jamie Lundmark added three helpers as the Abbotsford Heat picked up its first home victory in team history with a 7-5 AHL win over the Milwaukee Admirals Friday night.

Garth Murray's first of the season near the four-minute mark of the third period stood to be the winner for the Heat (2-0-3).

It was a night of firsts for Heat youngsters as Keith Seabrook, Mikael Backlund and Keith Aulie all registered their first professional hockey goals in the win.

Abbotsford also got goals from John Armstrong, David Van der Gulik and Colin Stuart.

Mike Santorelli led the way for the Admirals (2-1-1) with a goal and four helpers in the losing cause.

The Admirals also got goals from Alexander Sulzer, Peter Olvecky and a pair from Jonathon Blum.

Both teams got a pair of power-play goals as the Heat finished 2-for-7 and the Admirals finished 2-for-5.

Leland Irving made 23 saves picking up his second win of the season while Chet Pickard was stuck with the loss making 24 saves.

The two teams will battle it out once again Saturday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
