ROSEMONT, Ill. - Chicago captain Jason Krog tied the game with 2:25 remaining in regulation and Darren Haydar scored the only goal of the shootout as the Wolves beat the Manitoba Moose 2-1 in American Hockey League action Tuesday.

Defenceman Kevin Connauton scored for Manitoba.

Peter Mannino stopped all five Moose attempts in the shootout and saved 25 of 26 shots in regulation and overtime for the Wolves (11-12-1). Mannino has won five straight starts.

Connauton opened the scoring for Manitoba (11-6-2) on a power play at 14:01 of the second period. Sergei Shirokov set up Connauton for a one-time point shot that deflected off the skate of Chicago defenceman Arturs Kulda and by Mannino.

The 1-0 lead held until 17:35 of the third period, when Krog scored on a late power play. Haydar's shot was stopped by Eddie Lack, but the rebound went right to Krog and he fired it through traffic and past the Moose goaltender.

Lack made 17 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped four of five Chicago attempts in the shootout.

"They did a very good job of hemming us in all game and making us play in our own zone," said Wolves coach Don Lever. "We did a good job on the penalty kill in the third period and overtime and Peter made some big saves, especially in the shootout."
