GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Battling the effects of a compressed schedule and the spectre of a stretch of games away from home, the Hamilton Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday, extending their longest losing streak of their American Hockey League season.

Hamilton lost for the fourth straight game after falling behind 2-0 on the road, one night after the Bulldogs lost in a shootout at home. The Griffins scored in the first period when Tomas Tatar one-timed a pass through Hamilton goalie Curtis Sanford.

Francis Pare beat Sanford with a short-handed goal at 3:25 of the second period. Ryan White beat Grand Rapids goaltender Daniel Larsson in the third, but the rally stalled, and was officially snubbed out when the Griffins added an empty-net goal.

The Bulldogs had played nine games in 16 days, and are in the midst of playing seven straight on the road.
