NEW YORK - Minnesota Wild right-winger Marian Gaborik, Edmonton Oilers goalie Mathieu Garon and Philadelphia Flyers left-winger Scott Hartnell were named the NHL's three stars of the week Monday.
Gaborik was named first star after recording eight points (four goals, four assists) and a plus-9 rating as the Wild won three of four games last week.
"Well, it's always nice, and I appreciate this award," Gaborik said in a conference call Monday. "It only happens when we're winning, and that's the most important thing."
Garon took the nod for second star after winning three straight games for the Oilers. He had one shutout, a 1.01 goals-against average and .968 save percentage over the stretch.
Hartnell was named third star after posting eight points (5-3) in four games. He notched his second career hat trick in a 6-2 win over the New York Rangers last Thursday.
