Free agent defenseman Sergei Zubov has decided to pack up and head back to Russia with his hockey career.

The 39-year-old signed a deal with SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental League, concluding a 16-year NHL career that included two Stanley Cups – one with Dallas and one with the Rangers.

Originally selected by the Rangers 85th overall in the 1990 draft, Zubov is known as one of the best puck-moving defensemen to ever come out of Russia. Over 1,068 NHL games, Zubov tallied 152 goals and 771 points.
