The Red Wings forward was shaken up following the hit from White, but did return to the game.
Ryan White could be hearing from the league's department of player safety.
The Philadelphia Flyers’ forward was assessed a match penalty for his hit on Tomas Jurco of the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.
Jurco was shaken up on the hit and went to the Detroit room, but did return to the game.
The Red Wings failed to score on the ensuing five minute power play.
"They made the call on the ice, it's a fast game out there, it's a tough hit," Flyers coach Dave Hakstol told the NBCSN broadcast. "They made the five minute call, we accept that and we go and kill the penalty and that's what our group did."
As Ansar Khan of MLive.com notes, all match penalties are automatically reviewed by the league.
White does have a history with the league’s department of player safety.
In April of 2013, while with the Habs, White was suspended five games for an illegal check to the head of Kent Huskins.
