TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers will try to
salvage a split of their season series with the Tampa Bay
Lightning on Friday.

The Flyers, who are in the midst of their second two-game trip
to Florida this month, suffered a 4-1 loss in Tampa Bay on
January 15. The Lightning scored three goals in a span of 2:03
and captain Vincent Lecavalier converted a penalty shot in that
one.

Philadelphia split their first two meetings of the season
against the Lightning at home.

The Flyers are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers on
Tuesday. Simon Gagne and Claude Giroux scored for Philadelphia,
which has dropped three of its last five contests.

The Lightning had a three-game losing streak snapped Thursday,
suffering a 3-2 setback to the Carolina Hurricanes. Mark Reechi
and Ryan Malone each tallied in that one.

Former Flyer Steve Downie is currently on a four-game point
streak for Tampa Bay, which has won seven of its last 11
contests.
