The Flames trailed the Ducks 2-0 in their second-round series entering Game 3 Tuesday – & making matters worse, Calgary had yet to hold a lead vs. Anaheim. But that changed early in Game 3 when low-scoring winger Brandon Bollig notched his second playoff goal this year to give Calgary a 1-0 advantage.

Not only did the Flames find themselves down 2-0 in their second-round series against Anaheim entering Game 3 Tuesday – they'd also failed to even hold a lead against the Ducks in the post-season. But that changed when low-scoring left winger Brandon Bollig recorded the first goal of the night at the Scotiabank Saddledome to give Calgary a 1-0 lead.

Game 3 was barely two minutes old when Flames winger Mason Raymond took advantage of a Ducks defensive breakdown and passed the puck to Bollig, who was all alone in front of Anaheim goalie Frederik Andersen and scored to put Calgary ahead:

The 28-year-old Bollig has just eight career regular-season goals in 187 games with the Flames and Blackhawks, but his goal Tuesday was his second of this post-season. More importantly, it gave the Flames some confidence – at least, for the five minutes or so that followed it: Anaheim's Patrick Maroon evened the score at 6:57 of the first, and star right winger Corey Perry scored his sixth playoff goal this year at the 14:10 mark to send the Ducks into the first intermission with a 2-1 advantage.
